A builder in Canyon Lake Hills wanted a conditioned attic with the HVAC equipment inside the envelope, but the original plan used batts in the floor and a vented roof. We switched the design to open cell Icynene sprayed directly to the roof deck at 5.5 inches, creating an unvented, conditioned attic that dropped the duct leakage penalty to nearly zero. Crawl Space Encapsulation & Vapor Barrier - Hancock Area
A Hancock homeowner had called us for attic work but mentioned the floors were cold and the crawl space smelled like mildew every spring when the Guadalupe River valley humidity spikes. We encapsulated the crawl with a 12-mil reinforced polyethylene vapor barrier sealed to the walls, closed cell Demilec spray foam on the rim joists, and a Santa Fe dehumidifier set to 55% RH. Radiant Barrier Installation - Cranes Mill Area
A Cranes Mill homeowner with a dark shingle roof and west-facing gables was seeing attic temperatures hit 140°F by 4 PM in July, forcing the AC to run continuously. We installed Owens Corning RadiantTech foil stapled to the underside of the roof deck with a 3/4-inch air gap, then added blown-in cellulose over the existing fiberglass to reach R-38.
